  <abstract>El libro se centra en las técnicas de interpolación polinómica, y su ampliación para la formulas de cuadratura, en el estudio de splines lineales y cúbicos y en la aproximación mínimo cuadrática, tanto por modelos lineales como no lineales. Las fórmulas de integración numérica tienen un destacado papel dentro de la teoría de la aproximación. La formula de tres puntos: equiespaciados, no equiespaciados y aleatorios. </abstract>
